Water sports beach
Marina Muiderzand Almere
WingXperience is located on the beach next to the Muiderzand Marina. We offer a wide range of water sports activities here in collaboration with Sail-Today sailing school. The spacious beach and large water make this spot perfect for learning wing foiling! Our location has a small, sheltered beginner's bay, perfect and safe for your first lesson. After your first lesson, you can wing foil in the spacious open water. After entering the water, it becomes deep enough to start foiling after just a few meters.
The wind directions that work best at our location are north, northeast, west, and southwest. The water varies from flat to choppy, depending on the wind direction.
Our location offers a wide range of facilities:
-
FREE parking on the dike
-
Changing room
-
Toilets and (hot) showers
-
Hospitality
Sailing school Sail-today also rents SUPs. Or choose a catamaran lesson!
End the class with a refreshing drink on the waterfront terrace as the sun sets. A centrally located spot where you can completely unwind!

Weather & Wind
The IJmeer near Almere is a beautiful natural area that you absolutely shouldn't miss if you're in the area. With its expansive waters and surrounding nature, the IJmeer offers a wonderful setting for enjoying various water sports.
The IJmeer borders the Markermeer lake and is surrounded by green banks, offering breathtaking views of the Almere and Amsterdam skylines. It's also known as the spot with the most beautiful sunset in the Netherlands. With the wind in your hair and the water beneath your feet, you can enjoy the latest watersports like wingfoiling and wingsurfing.
The IJmeer offers ideal conditions for water sports, as it's great for surfing in almost any wind direction. Each wind direction has its own characteristics. As soon as the wind blows from the east, it's "offshore," or slightly offshore, at our spot. This creates mirror-smooth water, which is great for getting on the foil, but the downside is that the wind can be a bit gusty. Wingfoiling and surfing remain sports, of course, and we are dependent on the elements. For the best wind forecasts, we recommend checking Windguru , Windy, or Windfinder . There's also a weather station on Pampus that displays the current wind .

The different conditions at Marina Muiderzand
You can launch from the surf beach in any direction. Each wind direction has its own characteristics at the spot. Make sure you're well prepared before hitting the water and don't get caught out by the conditions. For example, with an easterly wind, it's completely offshore and only for advanced wing foilers or students who will receive assistance from the boat.
