Porto Pollo
a paradise for water sports enthusiasts!
Want to work on your wing foiling skills in one of Europe's most beautiful locations? Our lessons take place in Sardinia, an island known for its stunning coastline, turquoise water, and exquisite food. Porto Pollo Bay, in the north of Sardinia, is where the lessons take place.
The spot
Porto Pollo consists of two large bays with wide sandy beaches and dunes, separated by a narrow promontory. At the tip of this promontory lies the Isola dei Gabbiani peninsula, which closes off the bay on the north side. Porto Pollo faces Corsica, creating a wind tunnel effect, making it the most wind-safe area on the island.
The Wing Center is located in the eastern bay, which is reserved for windsurfers and wing surfers. The western bay is the kitesurfing area.
Throughout the season, depending on the weather, you can expect alternating winds such as Tramontana, Maestrale, Ponente and Scirocco, with wind speeds between 4 and 8 Bft.
In spring, northwesterly winds (Maestrale, Tramontana) blow primarily, sometimes reaching force 8. This wind is side-on-shore. Because the wind is usually weaker in the morning and builds around noon, the spot is ideal for beginners and advanced sailors, but professionals also get their money's worth.
In autumn the Scirocco and Maestrale blow again.
In spring and autumn, temperatures are very pleasant. There might be the occasional rainy day. The water temperature is also very pleasant, ranging from 16 to 22 degrees Celsius. In short, the ideal conditions for wing foiling!
Level
With its flat water, sheltered bay, and winds ranging from 4 to 8 Bft, this spot is suitable for all levels. Beginners can progress quickly here. Ready to try foil jibing or tacking? Porto Pollo offers the perfect practice area! Freestylers can also train like a pro here!
Material
Our lessons take place at Pro Center. The owner, Michiel Bouwmeester, has over 35 years of experience in the (wind)surfing industry. A professional center with a wide selection of RRD equipment!
Hardboards and inflatables: from 45L to 235L. Wings: softhandle, hardhandle, and boom in all sizes. Foils: from 750cm² to 2400cm².
A carbon range is also available on request.
With our weekly packages, you can also enjoy free use of windsurfing equipment, SUPs, kayaks, beach beds, and the beach volleyball court!
Next to the Pro center is the Tiki bar where you can enjoy a delicious lunch and/or an aperitif.

Accommodation
Stay within walking distance of the beach!
Our apartments are located throughout Porto Pollo and are a 5-10 minute walk from the beach and surf center. So, no need to take a car after your surf session; simply walk up to your accommodation! The apartments are furnished in a typical Sardinian style. Each apartment consists of a living room, a fully equipped kitchen, and, depending on the type, one or two bedrooms. The Type A apartment is included and has a private terrace/balcony or garden. An apartment with a sea view is available upon request for an additional fee (limited availability).​

Travel information
Sardinia is easily and quickly reached by plane (to Olbia). The flight time from Amsterdam Schiphol Airport is approximately 2 to 2.5 hours. In spring and autumn, EasyJet and Transavia fly directly to Olbia.
It's a 45-minute drive from the airport to Porto Pollo. We recommend renting a car for greater flexibility. Would you like to share a car with another traveler? Please contact us.
Alternatively, you can cross by car from Livorno or Genoa by ferry.
